Whistleblowing and complaints
SOMES maintains a whistleblowing policy that allows staff, members and third parties to report suspected fraud, misconduct or breaches of the code of conduct in confidence and without fear of retaliation. Reports may be made anonymously.
What you can report
- Suspected fraud, theft or misuse of funds
- Conflicts of interest that have not been disclosed
- Breaches of the evaluator code of conduct
- Harassment, discrimination or abuse of position
- Procurement irregularities
What happens next
- Reports go to the Audit and Compliance Committee, which is independent of management
- Acknowledgement within five working days where contact details are given
- Assessment and, where warranted, investigation
- Outcome reported to the Executive Board and, for material matters, to the General Assembly
- Retaliation against a person making a report in good faith is itself a disciplinary matter
