decision-making and accountability for sustainable development in Somalia.

SOMES’s Mission
To build and promote a strong, ethical, and professional evaluation culture in Somalia through
capacity development, standard-setting, advocacy, and networking for individuals and
institutions engaged in evaluation.

Implementation
Following a series of consultative discussions led by MoPIED’s Monitoring and Evaluation
Department, the process concluded successfully in the election of an interim executive board for
SOMES, comprising a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The election was held
on 23rd October 2025 at the AAIA Hall in Mogadishu, through a fair, transparent, and competitive
process.
