Somali Evaluation Society (SOMES) in Collaboration with Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economy Development (MoPIED) of Federal government of Somalia has commenced A comprehensive 5-day MEAL capacity-building program in Mogadishu to strengthen national expertise in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning. The program is designed to enhance evaluation capacities of M&E practitioners from government institutions, academia, and youth groups. Participants will be equipped with both foundational knowledge and practical evaluation skills aligned with national and international standards.
The training focuses on deepening participants’ understanding of MEAL concepts and evaluation processes; building hands-on competencies in evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and reporting; and introducing participatory and gender-responsive evaluation approaches. The program also aims to improve readiness for undertaking evaluation assignments across ministries, academic institutions, NGOs, and development agencies.
